How I created my T for Tags layout

My version is as follows:
I used a sheet of bazzil for the base and stamped around the edge with Craftwork cards stamps and Tim Holts distress ink - Shabby Shutters.
The text says Whats in the box as everyone in the photos was opening their presents.
I added 2 skeleton clock faces cut with a Tim Holtz die and lots of tags of various sizes.
I stamped the title onto the tags too, it say's There's no time like the present.

The hands were added to the clocks with gold brads.
The tags were all inked and strung with garden twine.

The photos were printed at random sizes and mounted onto the patterened paper and "scattered" across the page. Apologies for the addition of the white trees and daisy, I am unable to show the photos of these children)

This is our sketch...

And Elaine's beautiful original.

Click on the image in the side bar for details of the challenge and prize on offer.
Bon chance :)

Welcome to New Design Team Member

Please extend a warm welcome to our newest Design Team member - Claire Bell, known to may of you as Silver Custard.

Clarie had already taken part in the January challenge, but now, here is an introduction to our newest member.

A few words from Claire:

"Hi there,

My name is Claire, but I often go by the name of Silvercustard!  I love, love, love all things crafty and have been crafting for as long as I can remember.  I will try my hand at anything from paper craft to calligraphy, baking to toy making. My first love is scrapbooking and I love to try different techniques and don't mind getting covered in paint and ink.  I can't seem to stop myself buying tools or paper and if I had to choose just one craft it would be making mini books and albums.

Work gets in the way of crafting, but then something has to pay for all the stash I can't say 'no' to! I work as a teacher in the health and care sector as well as being a pub landlady alongside my wonderful husband."

Please see Claire's BLOG HERE.

Here are some of Claire's favourite layouts:

Hope you enjoyed these images.
We look forward to seeing what Claire comes up with for future challenges.

Welcome aboard Claire.

How I made my 'T is for Tags' Layout

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring ...

This is my 'T is for Tags' layout for this month's scraplift challenge.

Just a quick reminder that to start off the new year we are scraplifting this stunning page by Elaine Rolf.  Many of you will know Elaine from Scrap 365 magazine, Paper Arts Shop and her blog The Distressed Scrapper.
Here is her original layout:

and the sketch

Here is how I made my layout:

Cut several clock faces using the Tim Holtz Sizzix die  from scrap card to use as masks and lay them on the cream base cardstock, spray lightly with sprout Tattered Angels glimmer mist. Leave to dry, remove masks.

Cut several clock faces from green bazzill. Make tags in various sizes from Authentic Festive collection patterned papers, punching a small hole in the top of each one. Ink the edges.

Cut photos to sizes required.

Arrange everything on the page and when happy with the arrangement stick in place. I stuck some things down flat and others were raised up with 3D foam pads.

Where the clock hands show attach with a gold brad.

I wound some twine in and out of some tags and made ties for others.

With the Cheeky Alphabet stamps from The Paper Trunk add a rhyme, or long title around the outer edges of the layout.

Please pop over to my blog to find out more.

T is for Tags

Happy New Year!

To start off the new year we are scraplifting this stunning page by Elaine Rolf.  Many of you will know Elaine from Scrap 365 magazine, Paper Arts Shop and her blog The Distressed Scrapper.

A few words from Elaine:

"I'm a busy mother to many... I do have some spare time occasionally and like to garden when the weather is nice and scrapbook when it is not !!! In South Wales it rains a lost .... I started scrapping about 3 years ago, I had no idea it had changed since I'd been a teenager! It has combined my love of taking photos, and collecting bits for memories. I still have my childhood scrapbooks, but they look very different. I have been featured in several magazines. Scrapbook Inspirations, Scrapbook magazine and most recently on the DT for Scrap 365. I also teach classes at Paper Arts in Stroud. I have also been a designer on several on-line sites. Hopefully there might be some layouts on my blog that inspire you. I know I get lots of inspiration from looking at other peoples !!"

We drew our sketch as always

We challenge you to use this sketch, and TAGS to create a layout.

Here is another version by Elaine of her own layout.

Here are the layouts created by our design team to give you some inspiration. Please click on the names to be taken to the relevant blogs.
